Pakistan Embassy Marks Black Kashmir Day in Riyadh.

A ceremony marking Black Kashmir Day was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh. The event drew members of the Pakistani community from across Riyadh. Attendees represented different schools of thought and civic groups.

Opening and national ceremonies:

The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Next, the national anthems of Pakistan and Kashmir were played. The Head of Chancery, Mohsin Saifullah, presided over the opening. In his remarks, he stressed that Kashmir remains a core national issue for Pakistan. He said Pakistan will continue its political and diplomatic support until a lasting solution is reached. He also thanked everyone for demonstrating strong solidarity by attending the event.

Ambassador’s address:

The Ambassador of Pakistan, Ahmed Farooq, delivered the presidential address. He thanked attendees for their strong turnout and solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir. He reminded the audience of historical resolutions that recognized the Kashmiri right to self-determination. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to political, moral, and diplomatic support for Kashmiri aspirations.

Historical perspective and speeches:

Sardar Razak Khan provided a historical overview. He traced the roots of the Kashmir dispute back to the Treaty of Amritsar in 1846. He described the hardships Kashmiri Muslims endured under Dogra rule and praised those who resisted oppression.

Sardar Razak Khan also reviewed events from 1947. He recalled the freedom struggle led by Ghazi Millat Sardar Ibrahim Khan and the interim government formed in Azad Kashmir in October 1947. He described October 27, 1947, as a “Black Day,” when Indian troops landed in Srinagar. He underscored the enduring resolve of Kashmiris and praised the Pakistani armed forces for their support.

Messages of solidarity:

The event included readings of messages from national leaders. Qareen Akbar read the message from President Asif Ali Zardari. Secretary Moeed Kayani read the message from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Hamza Abbas read statements from the Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Ishaq Dar. Each message reiterated that Kashmir is a national issue and pledged continued Pakistani support.

Closing and outlook:

Speakers reaffirmed that Pakistan and the international Islamic community stand with the Kashmiri people. They condemned alleged ongoing human rights abuses and called for renewed international attention. Participants expressed confidence that the day will come when Kashmir is free and that they will continue to support that goal.
