IDWS 2025 to Unveil the Region’s Largest Global Prize for Innovation in Water

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, October 29, 2025: As the world faces increasing water scarcity, with more than two billion people lacking access to safe drinking water and demand projected to exceed supply by 40% by 2030, Saudi Arabia is taking decisive action. The Kingdom will host the Innovation Driven Water Sustainability Conference (IDWS 2025) a global event dedicated to advancing water innovation and sustainability.

Under the Patronage of HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal

Scheduled for December 8–10, 2025, at The Ritz-Carlton, Jeddah, the event will be held under the esteemed patronage of HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region. Organized by the Saudi Water Authority (SWA), IDWS 2025 will bring together world leaders, policymakers, researchers, and innovators to address urgent water challenges and accelerate global sustainability goals.

Global Prize for Innovation in Water

A major highlight of the event will be the Global Prize for Innovation in Water (GPIW), the largest of its kind in the region. The prize aims to recognize groundbreaking ideas that redefine how water is produced, treated, and reused. Beyond financial support, winning projects will gain mentorship, partnerships, and opportunities to pilot their innovations within Saudi Arabia and internationally.

Empowering Young Innovators Through “Miyahthon”

Returning for its second edition, Miyahthon The Water Innovation Hackathon, invites startups, students, and entrepreneurs to co-create scalable solutions across the water cycle, from production to digital transformation. Participants will receive mentorship from global experts and opportunities for incubation, funding, and commercialization. A dedicated investor track will further connect teams with potential funders and strategic partners.
