Water Scarcity Surfaces in New Karachi central Precinct Prior to Eid-ul-Adha

Karachi: As the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Adha draws near, the densely populated district of New Karachi in the metropolis is grappling with an acute water scarcity predicament, leaving multitudes of inhabitants in distress. This grave circumstance has instigated apprehension among the populace and is poised to present formidable challenges for those intending to carry out sacred sacrificial rites during this propitious festivity.

The water dearth in the district has been aggravated by disruptions in the water distribution network, leaving residents grappling with the direst of circumstances, where each droplet assumes immense significance. In addition to the disarray in water supply lines, the provision of tanker services has also been stymied, compounding the anguish experienced by the affected denizens.

The inquiry into this vexing matter ought to be undertaken by the Water and Sewerage Board, with the inclusion of WTM Sikander and Chief XEN Officer Hanif Baloch.

The district’s crisis has engendered a protracted string of water shortages in diverse locales, encompassing Buffer Zone, North Karachi, North Nazimabad, and FB Area, persisting unabated for a period spanning two days. The fallacious judgment and faulty execution by local Water Board personnel are at the core of the water conundrum afflicting the district.

The decision to redirect water from New Karachi’s precincts to areas catered to by Malir and East has been executed by Water Board officials. Regrettably, this course of action has proven ineffectual within a limited timeframe, thrusting the denizens of New Karachi into the clutches of indomitable hardship.

The officials involved must be held accountable for their erroneous decree, which has precipitated the present water crisis.

Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, Minister of Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah, Commissioner Karachi Iqbal Memon, MD Water Board Syed Salahuddin, WTM Sikander, and Chief XEN Officer Hanif Baloch must promptly initiate a comprehensive investigation into this matter.

Stringent measures must be taken against the responsible parties, accompanied by expeditious actions aimed at mitigating the water crisis in the central district of New Karachi, thereby ensuring succor for its beleaguered inhabitants.
