ASICS Launches Largest Women’s Movement Campaign to Promote Mental Well-being Through Exercise.

by: TN Media News Pakistan:
ASICS has launched its largest women’s empowerment campaign to date, focusing on the positive impact of exercise on mental health and well-being.
The campaign, titled Move Her Mind, highlights how regular movement can transform women’s lives by reducing stress, boosting confidence, and enhancing overall happiness.

Global Study Reveals Exercise Gap for Women

ASICS conducted the largest-ever global study on the gender exercise gap, revealing a strong link between exercise and mental well-being in women. According to the findings, women who exercise regularly report feeling:

  • 52% happier, 50% more energized, 48% more confident, 67% less stressed, 80% less frustrated

Despite these benefits, the study found that over 50% of women in the UAE and Saudi Arabia are not exercising as much as they would like. Many women are missing out on the physical and mental rewards of staying active.

Common Barriers to Women’s Exercise

The research highlights several reasons why women drop out of regular exercise or stop exercising altogether. The most common challenges include:

  • Time pressures (74%)

  • Low self-confidence (35%)

  • Intimidating environments (44%)

  • Not feeling sporty enough (42%)

Interestingly, men’s perceptions of these challenges differ from the reality. For example, only 34% of men recognize lack of time as a barrier for women, even though nearly three-quarters of women cited this issue.

Regional Insights: Saudi Arabia and UAE

In Saudi Arabia and the UAE, social support plays a crucial role in encouraging women to exercise. The study found that:

  • 48% of women in Saudi Arabia

  • 47% of women in the UAE

Consider their female friends their primary fitness influencers, underscoring the importance of exercising together in supportive environments.

Empowering Women Through Role Models

ASICS is spotlighting trailblazing women who are actively breaking barriers in sports and fitness. Two Middle Eastern role models featured in the campaign are:

Lulwah Ghalib – Saudi Athlete and Role Model

Lulwah Ghalib, the first Saudi woman to join the Athletics Masters Federation, is using her platform to inspire women in Saudi Arabia.

“Running has been transformative for me. It has shifted my mindset, empowered me physically, and helped me break stereotypes. I want every woman in my country to prioritize her physical and mental well-being,” said Lulwah.

Dr. Jowhara Al-Qahtani – Founder of Run The World

Dr. Jowhara Al-Qahtani, a surgeon from Qatar, created Run The World, a running group aimed at offering a judgment-free space for women of all sizes and fitness levels.

“Fostering a more inclusive fitness culture requires mindset shifts at both societal and individual levels. My goal is to create supportive environments that help women move confidently, regardless of their fitness background,” shared Dr. Jowhara.

ASICS’ Commitment: Move Her Mind

According to Ana Seixas, Head of Marketing at ASICS, the brand has always believed in the mental and physical benefits of exercise. The Move Her Mind campaign is part of ASICS’ mission to break down the barriers keeping women from staying active.

“We aim to give women a platform to connect, share experiences, and inspire each other. It’s time to promote a culture of sustainable fitness for women and girls so everyone can enjoy the benefits of movement,” said Ana Seixas.

Join the Movement

ASICS invites women across the region to share their fitness stories and experiences. By connecting through shared journeys, more women can find the motivation and support they need to move more, feel better, and build healthier communities.
