Karachi, Pakistan – A grand reception and coronation ceremony was held at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi District Central, to honour Irshad M. Khan, a distinguished journalist and a tireless advocate for press freedom and the rights of media professionals.
The event paid tribute to Khan’s decades-long service as the founder president of the National Press Club Karachi, chairman of the Sindh Union of Journalists (SUJ), and patron-in-chief of the City Union of Journalists Karachi. It brought together a diverse group of journalists, writers, intellectuals, social figures, and dignitaries in recognition of his enduring contributions to journalism.

In a symbolic and heartfelt moment, SUJ President Fazal Razzaq Babu, General Secretary Shehzad Khan, and Abdullah Farooqui presented a cash award of PKR 51,000 to Khan. He was also crowned with a silver crown by Aurangzeb Shehzad, recognizing his leadership and contributions to the media fraternity.
Members of the City Union of Journalists Karachi District Central, including Faizan Alvi, also presented a special award in appreciation of Khan’s exceptional services to journalism.
