Karachi Honors Irshad M. Khan: A Tribute to a Stalwart of Journalism.

Karachi (Special Report) – A grand reception and coronation ceremony was held at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi District Central, to pay tribute to the senior journalist, founder president of the National Press Club Karachi, chairman of the Sindh Union of Journalists, patron-in-chief of the City Union of Journalists Karachi, and the shining star of journalism, Irshad M. Khan. The event celebrated his long struggle for the rights and welfare of journalists. Attended by journalists, writers, intellectuals, social personalities, and other dignitaries of the city, the ceremony was a testament to Khan’s enduring impact on the field.

The event, organized in the auditorium of the Arts Council District Central, was a dignified affair to acknowledge and honor Mr. Irshad M. Khan for his extensive journalistic services. Notable attendees included Basheer Ahmed Saduzai, Rahman-ur-Rahim TV’s Imran Waheed, Resident Director of Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi District Central Coordinator Shahid Mohiuddin, renowned journalist and senior member of Karachi Press Club Shabir Ghori, senior journalist Zubair Nazir Khan, senior journalist Iqbal Sehwani, President of Sindh Union of Journalists Fazal Razzaq Babu, Senior Vice President Dr. Shuja Sagheer Khan, Vice President Aurangzeb Shehzad, Owais Adeeb Ansari, Parvez Siddiqui, AD Shahid, Soul of Bose News Web TV’s Anis Pasha, social figure Tahir Khan, and senior journalists Syed Tahsin Kamal, among others.

In his speech, Basheer Ahmed Saduzai praised Irshad M. Khan as a journalist of great honor. Renowned intellectual Imran Waheed lauded Khan for earning respect through his service to the country and his advocacy for the oppressed, rather than using his pen for personal gain. Irshad M. Khan, in his address, proudly stated that his long journey as a journalist remained untarnished. “I have earned nothing but respect, love, and fame, and I am proud of it,” he said.

During the ceremony, President of SUJ Fazal Razzaq Babu, General Secretary of SUJ Shehzad Khan, and member of the Governing Body Abdullah Farooqui presented a cash award of 51 thousand rupees to Irshad M. Khan. Vice President of SUJ and Central President of City Union of Journalists Karachi, Aurangzeb Shehzad, crowned Khan with a silver crown. Officials and members of the City Union of Journalists Karachi Central District, including Faizan Alvi, also honored Khan with an award for his exceptional services.

The event concluded with performances by well-known organizer, promoter, and singer Anees Shah, international singer Aseefa Shah, beautiful singer Sami Khan, and Altaf Rana, who entertained the audience. The evening ended with a dinner for all participants, making it a memorable celebration of Irshad M. Khan’s contributions to journalism.
