By: Rana Azeem Riyadh Saudi Arabia : The sweet and captivating aroma of Pakistani mangoes took over Riyadh as the Embassy of Pakistan launched the vibrant Pakistan Mango Mania Festival 2025. Held from July 17 to July 19, the event showcased Pakistan’s finest mango varieties to an enthusiastic international audience.
A Celebration of Pakistan’s King of Fruits
The festival was officially inaugurated by H.E. Ahmed Farooq, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event also welcomed Dr. Shagufta Zareen, Pakistan’s Minister for Trade and Investment, alongside prominent Saudi officials, foreign diplomats, local traders, and members of the Pakistani community.
Showcasing Pakistan’s Premium Mango Varieties
Special stalls displayed Pakistan’s most celebrated mango types, including:
- Chaunsa, Langra, Sindhri And other premium varieties
Visitors indulged in the rich aromas, vibrant colors, and irresistible flavors of Pakistani mangoes. A range of mango-based food items was also presented, capturing the attention of food lovers and industry professionals alike.
Strengthening Trade and Cultural Ties
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Ahmed Farooq highlighted the global reputation of Pakistani mangoes.
“Pakistani mangoes are known worldwide for their unique fragrance, taste, and quality. Festivals like this promote our agricultural products internationally and strengthen economic and cultural ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.”
Boosting Mango Exports to Saudi Arabia
Dr. Shagufta Zareen noted that Pakistan exported 110 million tons of mangoes last year.
“After establishing strong markets in Europe and Dubai, we are now focusing on expanding access to Saudi Arabia. This will help boost our mango exports and directly benefit Pakistani farmers.”
Positive Response from Saudi Traders
The festival attracted numerous Saudi traders and food industry representatives, who praised the exceptional quality of Pakistani mangoes. Many expressed a keen interest in future imports, recognizing the fruit’s commercial potential.
