In the history of Pakistan politics first time, an exclusive convention was designed by PTI OIC under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan to pay tribute to overseas Pakistanis for their political support and efforts for the economic stabilization of Pakistan. The convention was attended by the elected officials of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from 26 countries.
The three-day convention was hosted by OIC Chairman Abdullah Riar. Deputy Secretary Middle East Aqeel Arain was also among the organizers. A shield of honour was given to Mr Aqeel Arain by PTI Chairman Asad Umar to acknowledge his efforts for this successful event. Addressing the convention, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Overseas Pakistanis are our assets and their vigorous participation in elections is their fundamental right. In his welcome address Adviser to the Prime Minister Ayub Afridi highlighted the key points of the overall performance of the government and later hosted a dinner in the honor of the guests in which Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser was the chief guest.
At the dinner, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that as an active member of PTI we have to stand firm with Imran Khan. PTI Chairman Asad Umar, Information Minister Farrukh Habib, Federal Minister Babar Awan, Federal Ombudsman Ijaz Ahmad Qureshi, Federal Minister Shahbaz Gil, Governor Punjab Ghulam Sarwar, Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood and other ministers addressed the three-day convention. President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi hosted a special dinner for the guests.
PTI KSA Eastern Region team actively and vibrantly participated in the convention led by President Raja Farhad. Other members including Vice President Afzal Butt, Women Secretary Javeria Asad, Event Secretary Emrana Amir, Finance Secretary, Ammar Butt and Youth Wing Secretary Malik Al Hassan Riaz were the attendees. Adviser to the Prime Minister Ayub Afridi and MNA Shandana Gulzar arranged an exclusive meeting to discuss the issues of the respective communities raised by Overseas Women Secretaries. In the meeting Minister Zartaj Gul and various women, parliamentarians specially attended the meeting.
PTI Saudi Arabia Secretaries Javeria Asad and Emrana Amir pointed out the problems regarding the Pakistani community living in Saudi Arabia’s eastern region, especially women.General Secretary National Body PTI, KSA Nazakat Gujjar appreciated the active participation of the Eastern Body. In particular, he congratulated Women Secretaries Javeria Asad and Emrana Amir on their effective representation of women in Saudi Arabia.
