JCA Premier League to be sponsored by Kanoo Group
JEDDAH — Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group (YBA Kanoo Group) announced its support for one of the highly anticipated cricket leagues in the Kingdom, the Kanoo Premier League which is organized annually by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA), under the auspices of Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation.
Making the announcement, a sponsorship check was handed over by Deputy Personnel & Public Relation Manager of YBA Kanoo Jeddah Omar Al Ghamdi to Abdul Rehman Merchant and Ahmed Bin Mahfooz of JCA.
Cricket has now been recognized as one of the national games in the Kingdom with the formation of the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF) with Prince Saud Bin Meshal Bin Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Abdul Aziz as its president. SACF will henceforth be the single body responsible for running cricket activities in KSA.
JCA looks forward to this new set-up which will be good for cricket in KSA as it will be recognized amongst cricket playing countries with the prospect of international cricket teams coming to play cricket in near future and prospective sponsors will stand to benefit.
This will be the 28th year YBA Kanoo has sponsored the league, which demonstrates the group’s strong commitment to sporting activities. While handing over the check Al Ghamdi appreciated JCA’s dedication to organizing and developing cricketing skills in conducting such leagues for young and aspiring cricketers and thanked JCA for giving YBA Kanoo an opportunity to sponsor the Kanoo Premier League.

Their generous contribution to the league has helped JCA continue this annual sporting event for years.”
Kanoo T20 Premier League will be played over a period of 3 months. Sixteen (16) teams will participate and will be divided into 2 groups playing against each other in a league cum knock-out format to decide the winner and runner-up.
