A man wearing a ‘Stop bombing Palestine’ shirt caused a temporary disruption during the World Cup final between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The individual, dressed in red shorts, had a white shirt with the message ‘Stop bombing Palestine’ on the front and ‘Free Palestine’ on the back.
In an attempt to approach Virat Kohli, the protester’s actions led to a brief pause in the game as security personnel swiftly intervened, apprehending the intruder and subsequently taking him into custody. Following the removal of the pitch invader, enhanced security measures were implemented, allowing the resumption of the World Cup final.
The protester, identified as an Australian, was later questioned by the media while being escorted by authorities. He explained that he sought to meet Virat Kohli and express his opposition to the ongoing conflict in Palestine.
