The 94th meeting of the CIS Economic Council was held in Nur-Sultan under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the CIS Economic Council Bakhyt Sultanov, reports Dunyo IA correspondent. The participants of the event discussed a wide range of issues of multilateral economic cooperation. From the Uzbek side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Jamshid Kuchkarov.
The Chairman of the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS Konstantin Laykam informed about the main target macroeconomic indicators of the development of the economy of the CIS member states for 2021. The main attention at the meeting was paid to the consideration of the current economic situation in the CIS member states and possible joint measures to respond to emerging problems.
Members of the Economic Council approved practical measures to inform about a nuclear accident or a radiation emergency, the scope and content of assistance within the framework of fulfilling the obligations stipulated by the Agreement on Interaction of the CIS Member States to Ensure Preparedness in the Case of a Nuclear Accident or a Radiation Emergency and Mutual Assistance in Liquidation their Consequences of November 2, 2018.
At the meeting, the Action Plan for the second stage (2022-2025) was approved for the implementation of the 2025 Main Directions for Cooperation between the CIS Member States in Forestry and the Forest Industry. The participants considered information on the results of the Year of Architecture and Urban Planning in the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2021.
The next meeting of the CIS Economic Council is scheduled for September 23, 2022, in Moscow.
