An event dedicated to June 15 – National Salvation Day was held at the Khurshidbanu Natavan Library Branch No. 4 of the Yasamal District Centralized Library System of the Baku City Main Department of Culture. The event was jointly organized by the Samad Vurgun Poetry Center and the Mammad Said Ordubadi Memorial Museum.

At first, the participants laid flowers at the monument to the martyrs in Yasamal district and paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs. Then the event continued in the library. The memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev was commemorated with a minute of silence.

The head of the Poetry Center Zarangiz Mansurova said that the celebration of the ideology of national salvation has always manifested itself in the sustainable development of our independent republic and has become a key factor in further increasing the prestige of Azerbaijan in the world. The socio-economic and political development that took place in the country after the return of national leader Heydar Aliyev to power has played a decisive role in strengthening our state, joining the process of close integration into the civilized world and building a modern society that meets the strategic interests of our people. Thus, this important historical day is engraved in the memory of our people as the Day of National Salvation, and since 1997 it has been celebrated as an official holiday by the decision of the parliament. There is no denying that the restoration and development of our independence has become a reality thanks to the will of the National Leader.

Director of the MSOrdubadi Memorial Museum Lala Abaszadeh noted that Azerbaijan has come a long way in recent years. The development strategy of our country was determined by the great leader Heydar Aliyev. There is no alternative to the policy of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan. Today’s Azerbaijan is the Azerbaijan that the Great Leader wants to see. All the achievements are based on the political course set by the National Leader and the fact that President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues this political course.

Researcher of Jabbarli’s house-museum Gulnara Alibalayeva spoke about the activities of the Great Leader in the development of our country. Noting that the “Contract of the Century” was signed as a result of the Great Leader’s efforts, G. Alibalayeva said that today President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues and develops energy and transport projects initiated by the Great Leader. As a result of the correct economic policy pursued today, both our citizens live a prosperous life and Azerbaijan plays an important role in Europe’s energy security.

Researcher of MSOrdubadi Memorial Museum Irada Valiyeva, colleagues Rasima Ahmadova, Lamiya Baliyeva, guide of Samad Vurgun’s house-museum Konul Jabiyeva and others stressed that the great work done by great leader Heydar Aliyev through hard work, perseverance and political will amazed people with its scale. It was stressed that our youth in our developing country should study the importance of the National Salvation Day, the great leader Heydar Aliyev’s unparalleled services to the homeland and the people, and make an important contribution to Azerbaijan’s progress by remaining committed to the state policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev.

At the event, librarian Esmira Zulfugarova recited a poem “Heydar Baba, you are the grandfather of the people” dedicated to the great leader Heydar Aliyev by the employee of the library, poet-publicist Zarangiz Demirchi Kayali. The poems “Lands”, “Shusha” and “Glorious Azerbaijan” sung by Nuray Salimova, a second-grader of Baku School No. 93, were applauded.

At the end, the director of the library Aynur Babayeva thanked the guests. He spoke about the importance of books dedicated to the Great Leader, President Ilham Aliyev, National Salvation Day, and said that the works displayed in the lobby were met with interest by readers.
