On 21 Dec 2022, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid a visit to Uzbekistan to meet his counterpart President of Uzbekistan, H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The recent visit has been performed during the most significant time of regional connectivity.
Both leaders are most popular in the region. The vision of the Uzbek President regarding “Good neighbourhood and regional cooperation” complements the dynamic vision of President Tokayev “New Kazakhstan-New initiative”. Therefore, many opportunities reside to provide a new impetus to bilateral relations.
Kazakhstan has recently conducted fair and transparent elections vis-à-vis made important constitutional reforms. The world has witnessed the successfully held electoral process and admires Kazakhstan’s political modernization.
Thus, many opportunities for regional integration have occurred. Both leaders are enhancing their efforts to cooperate in the areas of mutual interest and work for a better future.
During the visit, joint programs and areas of collaboration were discussed. Under these assertions, it can be easily anticipated that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have progressed on the road of socioeconomic and political success and sustainable development.
I believe that these interactions and visits are crucial for reviving Central Asian integration and tackling common challenges with a shared forward-looking spirit.
