JEDDAH The Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah hosted the annual certificate distribution ceremony to honor the team and doctors of the Free Medical Camp, operated under the Pakistan Welfare Society. The event recognized nearly two decades of dedicated healthcare service to the Pakistani community.
Consul General Khalid Majeed served as the chief guest, applauding the Welfare Society for its commitment to humanitarian service. The ceremony was attended by a large number of community members, including prominent business and social figures.
19 Years of Medical Service:
Welfare Society officials shared that over 416 free medical camps have been held over the past 19 years, treating more than 52,000 patients. Recently, each camp has been catering to around 300 individuals.
In the past two years alone, 16 surgeries were conducted—12 of which were cataract operations. The camps offer consultations, lab tests, and medicines free of charge, delivered by a team of specialist doctors.
Broader Healthcare Support:
The Welfare Society also runs a Free Kidney Center Hospital in Abbottabad, with consistent backing from the Pakistan Consulate.
Dr. Muhammad Amjad Ubaid, General Secretary of the Society, offered valuable health tips during the event, emphasizing disease prevention and early diagnosis.
