Imtiaz Ahmed, a well-known personality of Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia hosted a dinner reception for visiting journalists Ejaz Ahmed Tahir Awan from Pakistan and Syed Mussarat Khalil from Jeddah at Dewan Restaurant Riyadh on Tuesday night.
Imtiaz Ahmed, is also Patron-in-chief of United Media Forum (UMF) Riyadh, President Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Riyadh and special correspondent of “Dunya News” welcomed all the guests and said I feel proud to welcome all of you, especially for the senior journalists Tahir Awan and Mussarat Khalil for accepting my invitation in a short period of time.
He praised the enormous contribution made by these two journalists in developing the ideal relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and promoting the soft image of Pakistan. He said in his opinion, journalists have a number of roles and responsibilities that they must consider throughout the course of their entire career, and I’m indeed honored that Tahir Awan and Mussarat Khalil have fulfil his duties successfully.
Speaking on the occasion, Ejaz Ahmad Tahir Awan said that all journalists should focus and pay their full attention on the duties of fear journalism. Keep themselves away from the affiliation of political parties and politicians. Focus only integrating and strengthening impartial journalism.
Journalism is a sacred profession and while respecting the sanctity of pen, the department of journalism should be fulfilled with honesty, Tahir Awan added.
Syed Musarrat Khalil said that Pakistanis consider the Holy Land of Saudi Arabia as their second “second homeland”. Saudi Arabia’s fraternal relations with Pakistan span more than half a century. “Our first duty is to respect the local laws of Saudi Arabia and to refrain from any illegal activities,” he said.
Continuing his talk, Musarrat Khalil said the owners of print and electronic media should be given fair compensation for their journalistic responsibilities.
He added, although the Pakistani mission in Riyadh and Jeddah has limited resources and powers but all efforts have been made to provide best services to the journalists and processionals of the community who deserved.
Senior columnist Mubashir Anwar briefly shared his experiences about column writing and reporting. He said I wish good relationship between columnists and journalists. During the reception Engineer Naveed-ur-Rehman, president, Pakistan writers club Riyadh presented a historical and memorable book to Mussarat Khalil on his genealogy of family tree.
The reception was attended by senior columnist Mohammed Mubashir Anwar, Waleed Ijaz Awan, President Pakistan writers club, Engineer Naveed-ur-Rehman, guests Syed Waqar Ahmed and Hassan too.
At the end all participants Syed Musarrat Khalil and Ejaz Ahmad Tahir Awan specially thanked Imtiaz Ahmed, the host of the event, for his sincere love and sincerity and especially prayed for an increase in his provision.
