Leadership Summit in Jeddah Addresses Kashmir Crisis.

A high-level meeting of religious, social, and political leaders from Azad Kashmir convened in Jeddah to deliberate on the escalating tensions in Indian occupied Kashmir. The gathering, marked by poignant discussions and impassioned speeches, underscored the urgency of resolving the longstanding Kashmir conflict and amplifying the voices of the oppressed.

The event, graced by esteemed dignitaries including Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, and Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Secretary General of the World Kashmir Awareness Forum, was presided over by Sardar Waqas Inayat, President of the Jammu Kashmir Oversees Community, Jeddah.

Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, emphasizing the fundamental principle of self-determination enshrined in the United Nations Charter, reiterated the gravity of the Kashmir dispute. He underscored the dire need for sustained international engagement to avert the looming threat of nuclear catastrophe and ensure a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Khan emphasized the pivotal role of His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, in fostering dialogue and reconciliation between India and Pakistan.

Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai emphasized that the Kashmir conflict transcends mere developmental issues, emphasizing the paramount importance of freedom and self-determination for the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He cautioned against the repercussions of global inaction, warning of the dire consequences for regional stability and international security.

Former Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mr. Farooq Rehmani, echoed calls for an end to violence and urged the international community to intervene. He stressed the need for India to engage honestly with Kashmiri aspirations and facilitate a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Consul General Khalid Majeed Sahib highlighted the plight of Kashmiris under Indian occupation, calling upon the world community to raise their voices against oppression. He condemned India’s attempts to alter the demographic makeup of the region and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri cause.

Mr. Masud Ahmed Puri, Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, Jeddah, reaffirmed the steadfast commitment of Kashmiris to their right to self-determination. He commended the leadership of Azad Kashmir for their tireless efforts in internationalizing the Kashmir issue.

Sardar Waqas Inayat, reflecting on the plight of political prisoners and the erosion of Kashmiri rights, lamented the indifference of the international community towards the Kashmiri struggle. He highlighted India’s sinister agenda to change the demographic composition of the region, urging global powers to intervene.

The summit concluded with prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir and Gaza, serving as a poignant reminder of the ongoing struggles faced by oppressed communities worldwide.

The event, characterized by solidarity and resolve, galvanized attendees to renew their commitment to the Kashmiri cause and advocate for justice on the global stage.
