REGC started net trends of fearless cricket in the Riyadh Cricket Association TERA System T20 Tournament in the top Al Kharjj League defeating Champions KFSH BLUES which turn out to be a one-sided affair.

Riyadh Elite Game Changers (REGC) participating in the Premier top League of RCA AL Kharjj league had a mixed bags of emotions as they went fighting down by 15 runs against Samacom cc battling last 10 overs under a bad light in the 1st round but came back fearlessly against the Champions KFSH last Friday winning comprehensively by 6 wickets.
KFSH skipper Nasir Abbasi won the toss and elected to bat first, REGC Skipper Kannan also known as The superman behind wickets with his witty strategical moves and approach in tandem with the coach Azeem kept the opposition guessing and clueless throughout the match with well-executed strategies and new loads of fearless cricket.
Lanky Left arm lethal and sultan of swing Mustafa Qalandar who took 3 wickets in 1st game vs samacom started the proceedings with 2 back-to-back catches dropped of consecutive deliveries of the Great Usman Khalid who had proved his mettle at International and National level and then cleaning the KFSH Skipper Nasir Abbasi Stumps on a free hit delivery. The opening pair of KFSH had piled up 27 runs in 2 overs and the tactical move of bringing their best powerplay bowler and most experienced campaigner Mohammed Azeem earn dividends as KFSH skipper Nasir Abbasi and Don Bradman of Gulf Nadeem Babbar were dismissed off consecutive deliveries due to extraordinary fielding and presence of mind by both Skipper Kannan and Azeem. Mustafa from another end ensured that he kept the incoming batsmen in check and bowled a spell of 4 overs to take price wickets of Usman Khalid caught at mid-wicket by Faizan and cleaned up Iftikhar Chitto on other ends Usman Mughal also famously known as “The Brand” was introduced to get the price wicket of Faisal Khan to a superb diving catch at point from Mustafa.
After 8 overs the scorecard read 91/5 then Faisal Jamil who was exceptional against samacom grabbing 3 wickets the new energetic speed gun paceman and the witty Lankan Lion Mohammed Sauky were brought into the attack who ensured the kept the KFSH experience player Adnan and Imtiaz Butt under control dismissing Imtiaz butt to a superb catch by Faizan in 14th Over then Mustafa qalandar and Azeem got rid of Imtiaz Khan to a superb fielding effort. Vimal raj with exceptional fielding effort in the deep got rid of Uzair Jamal with help of Kannan. Mohammed Shauky then cleaned up in the 16th over with 2 more wickets of Adnan with a superb catch by Faizan and clean bowled Razi Butt. The fielding levels were exceptional from Vimal, Shauky, Faizan, Shamsu, Shadab, Karthik, Mustafa, Afreed and Usman.
REGC Fearless Opener the seasoned Saudi National Player Shamsudheen (Also Known as Shamsu Manjeri in Saudi Cricket Fraternity) who had proved his mettle In Saudi Arabia National Team Clinching the Asia Cup T20 in Oman with a blistering unbeaten 93 in finals and also in the 1st match against Samacom scoring a blistering 68 in 24 balls with (12 x4s and 2 x6s) started the Innings with 1st Ball 6 of Mateen-ur Rahman but was unfortunately dismissed on the individual score of 7 at end of 1st over scorecard reading 15/1.
Then walk in “The Brand” Usman Mughal who along with Skipper Kannan stitched a partnership of 64 runs matching shot to shot and scoring at will ensure there is no further damage done and also maintaining the required run rate in check. The partnership was broken when Usman inside edge reverse swinging delivery of Mateen at an Individual score of 30 at end of 8th over scorecard reading 79 at end of 8 overs. Skipper Kannan 57 in 40 balls with 5x4s and 1×6 then build a strong partnership with the cool middle order Syed Afreed who already proved his skills in 1st game against samacom battling under pressure and bad light, ensure this time he remains unbeaten on 32 in 19 balls with 3x4s and 1×6. Vimal raj 12 in 6 balls (1×6 and 1×4) the fearless experienced campaigner hit the Hat-Trick Ball for a 6 of Mateen who was at his best picking all the 4 wickets that have fallen.
REGC won by 6 wickets at end of 14.4 overs as they have planned to keep the NRR positive which would be a key factor in the Tournament ahead. REGC Skipper Kannan was adjudged Man of the Match for his 57 and 2 runouts.
RCA CEO Mr. Nadeem Babar praised the Team culture, positive vibes, discipline, energy of the REGC Squad and the fearless approach, and tactical moves of RCA Coach Mohammed Azeem and Skipper Kannan and wished them luck to continue this approach, work hard and win the championship and also to retain the Intercity crown.
REGC and RCA Head coach Mr.Azeem expressed gratitude towards RCA CEO Mr. Nadeem Babar and Sr. Vice-President Mr. Nasir Abbasi.
