Lahore Qalandars – Champions of PSL7

Lahore Qalandars PSL7 Champions

Lahore Qalandars outclassed the in form Multan Sultans by 42 runs to become the for the 1st time the champions of the Pakistan Super League 7.

They have been from the start of the league most the last team in the table but this year, young captain who lead the side with energy and had the crowd and the management behind him with the vision to find until the last ball which paid off today to win the PSL 7.

Multan Sultans started off well to take early wickets but Mohammed Hafeez experience paid off today to score 69 runs who was well supported by Book 41 not out but the show once again was David Wiese who smashed again in 8 balls 28 runs which made the difference.  Wiese continued where he left from in the Eliminator against Islamabad United to smash 28 and today he did the same.  Multans were not sure where to bowl him and he took full advantage to bring the total to 180 which at one time was expected to be around 140 mark.

Multans Sultans in the round matches only lost from Lahore Qalandars and today in the final they once again proved they were a better side in the matches they met.

In chase down the 180, Sultans panicked a bit when they lost Rizwan and Maqsood and from their onwards they remaining team were not able to handle the bowling attached which was used very cleverly to make sure runs are cut down.

Every bowler of Qalandars was on the mark and didn’t give much room for the batter to play their strokes which resulted the Sultans to surrender the game.

We have had some excelled cricket to watch over the last few weeks and some new talent to see where few may make it to play in the upcoming series against Australia but this has been proven to be the brand of Pakistan where highly skilled players available for the nation.

The PSL has also given the Pakistan team, leaders likes of Rizwan, Shaheen in case Baber Azam is not fit, these players can lead from the front.

It is now over for the year and we look forward to next year where teams will once again battle it out and make history.
