Event strengthens trade ties and showcases Italian innovation in the Saudi beauty market

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia  June 3, 2024: The Italian Trade Agency, in collaboration with Cosmetica Italia – The Personal Care Association and Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, successfully hosted the Italian Beauty Day at Localizer Mall, Gate 2, on Tahliah Street in Riyadh. The event aimed to promote Italian excellence in the cosmetics sector and foster stronger commercial ties with the Saudi market.

Promoting Italian Innovation in Beauty

The event drew approximately 100 industry professionals, including local distributors, business leaders, and media representatives. The primary objective was to showcase the high standards, innovation, and quality of Italian cosmetics and to introduce the new edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, a leading B2B platform in the beauty industry.

Demonstrations featured products from three Italian brands already active in the Saudi market: Liolà Cosmetics, Gerard’s, and Fontana Contarini. These sessions allowed attendees to experience the performance and luxury of Italian skincare, make-up, and personal care products first-hand.

Insightful Dialogue and Industry Engagement

A brief talk show brought together brand distributors and representatives from Cosmoprof and Cosmetica Italia. The discussion focused on the importance of quality and innovation, the growing demand for Italian beauty products, and the potential for increased trade between the two countries.

Dr. Romano Baruzzi, Director of the Italian Trade Agency in Riyadh, emphasized the importance of the Saudi market:

Impressive Growth in Italian Exports

According to Dr. Fabio Franchina, Vice President of Cosmetica Italia, Italy’s cosmetic exports to Saudi Arabia reached €77 million (approx. SAR 313 million)—a 13.1% increase compared to the previous year. Skincare products lead the demand, followed by make-up and perfumes.
