PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has reached the UK, London after four years in Pakistan. Maryam Nawaz arrived in London via Qatar along with her son Junaid Safdar and daughter-in-law Ayesha on Thursday night where she was received by her brother Hussain Nawaz at the airport.
According to local media, Tehreek-e-Insaf workers protested against her arrival at Heathrow Airport. On this occasion, there was sloganeering and fierce recrimination between PTI and Muslim League-N workers. Hasan Nawaz, PML-N leaders and the workers welcomed her on reaching London’s Avenfield Apartments.
Maryam Nawaz, speaking briefly to the media on this occasion, thanked the workers who came to Avenfield. Later, she met her father, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. She will consult with Nawaz Sharif regarding her return home.
According to sources, Maryam Nawaz is likely to return home on November 6th after staying in London for a month. She will also undergo surgery during her stay in London. It should be noted that on Monday, the full bench of the Lahore High Court headed by Chief Justice Amir Bhatti accepted the request of Maryam Nawaz and issued an order to return her passport.
Maryam Nawaz last travelled internationally in July 2018 when she arrived in Pakistan from London along with her father Nawaz Sharif and was arrested at Lahore Airport.
Earlier on September 29, the Islamabad High Court acquitted Maryam Nawaz and her husband Captain (retd) Safdar in the Avenfield reference, after which Maryam Nawaz and Captain (r) Safdar were also disqualified.
