Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Peoples Youth Organization (PYO) Saudi Arabia jointly organized a function to commemorate the 43ed death anniversary of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto today (Monday) at VIP hall of Mehran hotel in Jeddah.

Tasawar Hussain Choudhary president of PPP Saudi Arab presided over the gathering. Acting president PYO Sardar Waqas Inayat was the chief guest while Choudhry Azher Warraich chairman of Pakistan Muslim League (PML- Q) and Choudhry Akram Gujjar Chairman of Pakistan Muslim League PML-N) were Guest of honour.

The proceeding started with the recitation of a few verses from Holy Qur’an by Dr Abdul Rehman Mussarat Khalil. Naat was presented by journalist Hafiz Irfan Khatana. The famous poet of Jeddah Zamurad Khan Saifi paid rich tribute in his poem to Shaheed Bhutto.

Speakers included senior journalist Syed Mussarat Khalil, and Sardar Kaleem Khan president of PYO-KSA. Ch. Azher Warraich, Jawaid Malik Hussain Awan, vice president PPP-KSA. Jahangir Khan president, Pak Media Journalist Forum (PMJF), Amir Mohammed Khan, chairman of Pakistan Journalist Forum (PJF) and Ch. Mohammed Akram praised and highlighted the democratic struggle of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in their speeches.

They said “PPP is Pakistan’s biggest political party founded by the visionary of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto on Nov. 30, 1967, during a period of immense darkness, to counter a dictatorship that was sucking the lifeblood of our beloved homeland.

While delivering the presidential address Tasawar Hussain Choudhry thanked all the guests, leaders from Pakistan Muslim Leagues-Nawaz (PML-N), PML-Q, journalists and other representatives from cultural, social, welfare and literally forums who gathered to commemorate the 43rd death anniversary of the former Prime Minister and founder chairman of PPP Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

He said I believe Z. A. Bhutto was a pioneer of “absolutely not” for Sovereignty of the nation and country. He further praised Bhutto’s contribution and services which included giving a democratic constitution, starting a nuclear program to make Pakistan’s national defence unbeatable, Summit Conference of Islamic Countries in Lahore. The era of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a bright chapter for the beloved homeland, Tasawar added.

In the end, Hafiz Irfan Khatana made supplications for the prosperity of the Muslim Ummah, the healing of all the sick and the blessings of Ramadan.
Well-known poet of Saudi Arabia Aftab Turabi conducted the proceedings. He also paid homage in his couplets.
