Quetta, Pakistan – The Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) National Physical Disability (PD) Grade 2 T20 Cricket Championship began with a solid win for Quetta Bolan. They defeated Larkana PD by 7 wickets in a thrilling match held at IT University Cricket Ground.
This event was organized in partnership with the Shahid Afridi Foundation and the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA).
Allauddin Leads Quetta to Victory
Quetta Bolan’s star player, Allauddin, delivered an outstanding performance. He scored an unbeaten 32 runs and took 4 wickets. His efforts earned him the Player of the Match award.
Tanveer Ahmed also played a key role, taking 4 wickets for just 15 runs. As a result, Larkana PD was restricted to a total of 158 runs.
Larkana Shows Promise in First Appearance
Larkana PD played their first match in this tournament. Despite a strong start, they couldn’t hold their momentum. Zakir Ali impressed with a quick 48 off 21 balls, hitting nine boundaries.
Ahmed Qureshi added 36 runs from 24 balls, including five fours. However, seven of Larkana’s batters failed to reach double figures.
Steady Chase by Quetta
In reply, Quetta Bolan reached the target in 19 overs, scoring 161 for 3. Amir Habib led the chase with 45 runs from 40 balls. He was supported by Allauddin, who remained not out on 32, Noorullah with 30, and Sirajuddin, who added 24 runs.
Sirajuddin’s quick knock featured three fours and a six. On the bowling side, Khan Mohammad, Awad Ahmed, and Ahmed Qureshi each took one wicket for Larkana.
Guests Applaud the Efforts
Several guests attended the opening match. These included Haji Abdul Malik Ajkzai, General Secretary of the Regional Cricket Association Quetta, and Muhammad Kakar, former PCB Management Committee member.
Haji Abdul Malik praised the event and said:
“I am very much among you people. I am thankful to the Regional Head PPDCA Aslam Bareach. I have a strong desire to go wherever there is PD cricket across Pakistan. Quetta region is ready to support PPDCA in every way.”
He also shared his pride in seeing Abdullah Khan and Saifullah from Quetta represent the national team.
