The Pakistan team showed brilliant performance in the recently-concluded match against Bangladesh. They were asked to bowl first and they bowled out Bengal Tigers for 204 runs off 45.1 overs.
In this regard, Pakistan’s ace pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi unlocked yet another feat. The left-arm pacer became the quickest pacer to take 100 wickets in the history of ODI cricket.
Afridi took 51 innings to unfold this achievement, breaking the record of Australian pacer Mitchell Starc who had achieved the same feat in 52 innings.
In the game against Bangladesh, Afridi took his first wicket in the very first over, and contained the runs throughout his spell.
The lanky pacer dismissed Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto in the successive overs and then returned to outclass Mahmudullah, who was looking in a good touch.
All in All, Shaheen took 3 wickets for 23 runs in 9 overs, maintaining the economy of 2.56.
Talking about the game, Pakistan comfortably defeated Bangladesh at Kolkata, clinching two crucial points, in order to keep their semi-final hopes alive.
