An event dedicated to the world-famous composer, virtuoso pianist Ferenc Liszt, a classic of Hungarian music, was held on June 13 in cooperation with the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibayli and the Hungarian Embassy in Azerbaijan.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Baku Academy of Music and the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music at the event . The event also included the unveiling of a bust of F. List, designed by renowned sculptor, People’s Artist Natig Aliyev.
Rector of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibayli, People’s Artist, Professor Farhad Badalbeyli praised the holding of such a cultural event against the background of the development of relations between the two countries.
Expressing satisfaction with the holding of such an event in Azerbaijan, Hungarian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Viktor Sederkenyi said that such prestigious events are a guarantee of further strengthening relations between the two friendly countries.
Speaking about the importance of the event, People’s Artist Natig Aliyev said the opening of the bust at the Baku Music Academy was the next important step towards the country’s integration into Europe. He said that busts of other world-famous composers, as well as well-known composers and musicians of our country will be unveiled at BMA in the near future.
The event continued with a concert program of works by the composer performed by students of BMA and Bulbul Music School.
