Estranged Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader and former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that he does not plan to join the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and will remain independent. Daily Jang quoted sources as saying that the former minister has refused to join the PTI.
The reporter further said Nisar would not join the PML-N or Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) either. These reports come a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan claimed to have met Chaudhry Nisar. The PM had however stopped short of sharing details of the meeting.
The PM had said that he knows Nisar for the last four decades and often meets with him. “Chaudhry Nisar will take all his decisions himself,” he had said, suggesting that the estranged PML-N leader would come to Khan’s rescue.
