Jinnah Sports and New Zamzam Triumph in Zakir Babu and Arshad Munim Memorial Floodlight T-20 League.

 Muhammad Nizam Karachi – In thrilling encounters at the Zakir Babu and Arshad Munim Memorial Floodlight T-20 League, Jinnah Sports defeated Tara Sports by 7 wickets, while New Zamzam CC outclassed Al-Akhwan CC with a 5-wicket win. The matches were played under the lights at Abbasi Gymkhana Ground as part of the ongoing preparations for the Khatri Premier League Season 3.

Jinnah Sports secured their fifth consecutive victory of the tournament, maintaining their unbeaten streak and confirming their place in the semi-finals. Led by captain Owais Wada, who scored an aggressive 49 off 42 balls, and powered by Naeem Jobat’s devastating 4-wicket haul, Jinnah Sports comfortably chased down Tara Sports’ target of 132 runs.

In the first match, Tara Sports batted first and posted 131/9 in 20 overs. Ayub Khatri contributed 25 runs, while Raseeid Tara remained unbeaten on 21. Jinnah Sports’ bowler Naeem Jobat took 4 wickets, while Mohammad Rabi claimed 2 wickets. In reply, Jinnah Sports reached the target with one ball to spare, with Farooq Khatri supporting his captain with 38 runs.

In the second match of the day, New Zamzam CC restricted Al-Akhwan CC to just 100 runs, thanks to impressive bowling performances from Zafar Khatri and Shaan Zeeshan, who each took 4 wickets. Shoaib Sonija also contributed with 2 wickets and an unbeaten 32 off 26 balls to lead his team to victory. Owais Jamali was the top scorer for Al-Akhwan CC with 30 runs, but the team struggled against the dominant New Zamzam bowling attack.

Chasing 101 runs, New Zamzam CC reached their target in the 16th over, securing their second win of the tournament. Asad Shoubi played an aggressive knock of 27 runs, while Kamran Khatri took 2 wickets for Al-Akhwan CC.

The chief guest, Rizwan Wada, a prominent figure in the Khatri community and the tournament organizer, presented Man of the Match awards to Naeem Jobat and Zafar Khatri for their match-winning performances. Both players were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1,000.

The next match is scheduled for today, October 16, where Khatri CC will face Tara Sports in the last league match at 9:30 PM at Abbasi Gymkhana Ground.
