Catherine Dalton, accredited with an ECB Level 3 advanced coaching certification, has broken barriers by becoming the inaugural female coach in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
At 30, the former Ireland international, who represented her country in four ODIs and four T20Is, has been entrusted with the role of fast-bowling coach for the Multan Sultans.
Dalton’s coaching stints span the UK and India. She has previously mentored several young Pakistani speedsters, including names like Mohammad Ilyas, Sameen Gul, Arshad Iqbal, and some Under-19 talents.
In related news, The Telegraph has reported that Alex Hartley, ex-England spinner, is on the brink of joining Multan Sultans as a specialist spin bowling coach. Hartley, also 30, concluded her professional cricketing journey this past August. She donned the England jersey in 28 ODIs and four T20Is between 2016 and 2019.
Equipped with a Level 2 coaching certificate, Hartley has coached Lancashire’s age-group female teams in the past.
