On the occasion of Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, a wonderful event organized by Pakistan Writers Club and Ladies Chapter (PWC-LC) Riyadh.

Riyadh-In Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, the well-known literary, social and cultural organization of the Pakistani community, Pakistan Writers Club Riyadh and Ladies Chapter (PWC-LC) organized a wonderful event on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day at a local hotel.

A large number of community members, ladies and children participated with great enthusiasm. The event was presided over by Club President Engineer Naveed ur Rahman, while the chief guest of the event was Syed Musrat Khalil, a well-known senior journalist who was invited from Jeddah on a special invitation.

In his address, he congratulated the Independence Day and said that today we should thank Allah Almighty for the blessing of freedom and pledge that we will maintain the independence and security of our country at any cost. He thanked Club President Naveed ur Rahman, Vice President Zubair Bhatti, Convener Dr. Farah Nadia and all the members for presenting a commemorative shield for journalistic services on behalf of Pakistan Writers Club.

Dr. Farah Nadia highlighted the aims and objectives of the club and invited the school boys and girls to present their thoughts on Independence Day. She said that the young generation is the future of the country. They should be well aware of the Pakistan movement for the creation of Pakistan. Children also presented national songs.

Well-known women speakers of the Riyadh community Balqis Safdar, Maimoona Murtaza, Yasmeen Zaheer, Shahnaz Qureshi, Eram Amir, Areba Asim and Madam Sajida Chaudhary expressed their love and affections with their home country-Pakistan.

Zubair Bhatti, vice president PWC, and journalist Naveed ur Rehman Raja also addressed and congratulated the entire nation, including the Pakistan Army.

In the end Club President Naveed ur Rahman thanked all the guests and reiterated the commitment that Writers Club will continue to organize national days events for the youth.

The program was moderated by Waleed Ijaz Tahir Awan. Earlier, the program started with Osama’s recitation of Holy Quran and gifts was be presented to children Maheed Ahmed, Rehman Faisal and Areba Asim.
