Pakistan Roars to Third Straight Win in U19 Asia Cup.

by: Atika Mehboob TN Sport Pakistan:
Pakistan’s U19 cricket team continues its reign of dominance at the Asia Cup, claiming their third consecutive victory against Afghanistan. Led by captain Saad Baig, the green shirts secured an impressive 83-run win over their neighbors, solidifying their position as the only undefeated team in the tournament and becoming the first to secure a semi-final spot.

After being asked to bat first by Afghanistan, Pakistan’s openers Shamyl Hussain and Shahzaib Khan provided a solid foundation with a 115-run partnership off 102 deliveries. Even after Shamyl’s dismissal, Shahzaib remained steadfast, guiding new batsmen and contributing significantly to the team’s total. While other batters besides Riazullah could not cross the 30-run mark, the collective effort of the top order had done enough damage to Afghanistan by that time.

Pakistan’s bowling attack, once again, proved to be a force to be reckoned with. Ubaid Shah’s exceptional spell of 3-19 showcased his brilliant bowling skills. The Afghan top order lacked early momentum, and the pressure quickly shifted to the middle order. Despite valiant efforts by some, they ultimately crumbled under the combined brilliance of Pakistan’s bowlers.

Shamyl’s 75-run knock and one dismissal earned him the well-deserved Man of the Match award. Tomorrow’s matches will determine Pakistan’s opponent in the semi-final, but one thing is certain: the green shirts are roaring with confidence and ready to take on any challenge.
