Pakistani Youth Leaders Engage with COP28 President to Amplify Climate Voices.

Islamabad, July 06, 2023 – A momentous meeting took place a few days back as the COP28 President, H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jabir, and his esteemed team visited Islamabad on an official visit.
The purpose of their visit was to connect with young climate leaders from the region and gather their invaluable perspectives on the road to COP28. Representing the passionate voices of Pakistani youth and the region, Ali Rehman Khan, along with his fellow YOUNGO members, were  honoured to participate in this significant dialogue.
During the meeting, Hafiz Jawad Sohail, representing Youngo Pakistan Team, raised vital issues concerning the visa process, logistics, and the meaningful participation of youth in climate processes, including COY and COPs. In response, H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jabir expressed his appreciation for the youth of Pakistan and their unwavering commitment to addressing social and climate challenges through technology and innovation.
He specifically commended Team Youngo Pakistan and emphasised that we are having strong collaboration with  Youngo Global Team for COP28, the official UN youth constituency on climate change COP28, highlighting the need for their active engagement in policy inputs and activities.
After the Q&A Session our youngo Pakistan team requested ,  H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jabir, requesting him to take a group photo with the inspiring Youngo Team Pakistan. The moment captured the spirit of collaboration and determination that will drive their efforts forward.
Then Ali Rehman khan and his other fellows of UNIFY Pakistan which Includes Zia Urehman Khan, the national focal point for UNIFY Pakistan; Zainab Zahid, the Regional Youth Focal Point for Central and Southern Asia; and Tawseef Khan, founder of Wefixer and a dedicated youth climate activist.
They Took the group photo and also  discussed the upcoming LCOY Pakistan Conference on climate change event, set to take place in August 2023, and explored strategies to ensure its success.
The COP28 meeting with President Dr. Sultan Al Jabir marked a significant milestone for Pakistani youth, reaffirming their vital role in the global fight against climate change.
With an invitation to actively participate in COP28 and contribute to policy formulation, Team Youngo Pakistan is ready to rise to the challenge and make their voices heard on the international stage. The meeting not only solidified their commitment but also paved the way for collaborative action, fostering hope for a greener and more sustainable future.
