The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially appointed former Test captain Mohammad Yousuf as the head coach of the Pakistan U19 team. Yousuf, a highly distinguished batter, previously served as the batting coach of the Pakistan Men’s Team and at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
His upcoming responsibilities include guiding the team in the 2023 ACC U19 Asia Cup in the UAE (8-17 December) and the 2024 ICC U19 World Cup in Sri Lanka (13 January to 4 February). In a statement, Yousuf expressed his pleasure at joining as the Pakistan U19 head coach, emphasizing the honor of contributing to Pakistan cricket.
He highlighted the significance of the U19 tournaments for player growth and stated his commitment to providing a nurturing environment for young talents to thrive and make a mark internationally.
Drawing from his coaching experience with the senior men’s side, Yousuf aims to harness the skills of young players, fulfilling his responsibility in identifying, improving, and nurturing future stars for Pakistan cricket.
