Peshawar Zalmi Edges Out Multan Sultans in a Thrilling PSL Encounter.

Peshawar, Pakistan – In a gripping match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Peshawar Zalmi emerged victorious against Multan Sultans by a narrow margin of four runs in the 9th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Tuesday.

Winning the toss, Peshawar Zalmi opted to bat first. Skipper Babar Azam led from the front with a commanding 64-run innings, supported by Saim Ayub’s quick 46 off just 22 balls. Haseebullah Khan’s contribution of 31 runs further bolstered Peshawar’s total to 204/5.

Multan Sultans, in pursuit of the challenging target, showcased a valiant effort. Iftikhar Ahmed’s unbeaten 60 kept their hopes alive, but they fell short by just five runs. Despite a commendable performance by Ahmed, Multan Sultans were unable to secure the win.

Usama Mir starred for Peshawar Zalmi with three crucial wickets for 32 runs, while Chris Jordan contributed with two dismissals for 33 runs. Multan Sultans’ chase could have been smoother if they had scored more aggressively earlier in the innings. Besides Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan and Chris Jordan were the only batsmen to make significant contributions with scores of 32 and 30 not out, respectively.

Aamir Jamal took two wickets for 36 runs, while Mehran Mumtaz and Naveen-ul-Haq claimed one each.

With this win, Peshawar Zalmi has now won four out of their eight matches this season, while Multan Sultans, despite the loss, remain at the top of the table with six wins from eight games.
