Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman, Mohammad Rizwan, recently highlighted the team’s intense preparations for their impending 2023 World Cup match against Australia on October 20th at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
In a video shared by the PCB, Rizwan underscored the significance of every fixture in the competition, conveying the squad’s enthusiasm for the challenge against the Australians.
“Every game is crucial for us, and we’re eagerly anticipating our match against Australia,” stated Rizwan. The accomplished right-hander emphasized the need to heighten their in-game acumen as they progress in this prestigious tournament.
While he acknowledged Pakistan’s prowess and potential, he accentuated the necessity to bolster their overall game consciousness, particularly in the realm of fielding.
“We must enhance our game awareness in the upcoming matches. This team possesses immense skill. We’re not inferior to any other team, but there’s a need to hone our awareness,” he expressed.
Rizwan went on to say, “In terms of awareness, fielding stands out. Our objective is to strategize on how best to cover crucial positions when the situation demands.”
It’s noteworthy that in past ODI World Cup face-offs, Pakistan and Australia have met 10 times. Australia leads with 6 victories, while Pakistan has triumphed in 4 of those matches.
