Various competitions including posters, quizzes, poetry, music, and theatre were organized by the Department of Pharmacy, Iqra University-North Campus. Chief guest PPMA Central Chairman Farooq Bukhari while addressing the 1-day “PharmaFest” appreciated the creativity and quality of education of the students. He exhorted the students to gain maximum experience and competence in the practical field as well.
The former chairman of PPMA, Sheikh Kaiser Waheed, while expressing his happiness over the organization of the event, said that it is his second visit and he would like to congratulate the Pharmacy department for polishing the students’ abilities at a high scale.
Dr. Tanveer Ahmed, a member of the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, said that the field of pharmacy is very vast and there are many job opportunities for pharmacists in various fields. He called such competitions very important for the mental development of young students.
While recalling the past, renowned artist Ayaz Khan said that in part days, extra-curricular activities were not very prominent in the universities and it is a commendable initiative of the universities to provide opportunities for the students to show their skills in the arts along with science.
Director of Drug Testing Laboratory Sindh Dr Syed Adnan Rizvi, Mr Naeem Qasim, Dr Bina Khan, Dr Syed Imran Wadood, and others were among those who expressed their views. In the closing ceremony, shields and certificates were presented by the Dean Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr Muhammad Masroor and HOD Pharmacy Dr Muhammad Imran to the respected guests and awardee students. Dr Muhammad Imran expressed his gratitude to the participants and Dr Rafaya Ahmed performed administrative duties.
