PSL 10: Karachi Kings Edge Past Peshawar Zalmi in Low-Scoring Thriller

TN Media News Karachi Pakistan: In a nail-biting contest at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi Kings edged past Peshawar Zalmi by two wickets, claiming their third win of the season in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10.

Chasing a modest 148-run target on a tricky surface, the Kings relied on David Warner’s composed 60 off 47 balls to anchor the innings. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, a calm and determined Khushdil Shah guided his side over the line with an unbeaten 23 off 17, finishing the match with a boundary in the final over.

The innings started on a poor note for the Kings as Tim Seifert was dismissed for a golden duck on the very first ball by Luke Wood, who went on to claim 3 wickets. Ali Raza added to Zalmi’s strong bowling performance with 2 crucial wickets, but Karachi managed to cross the finish line at 149/8 in 19.3 overs.

Earlier, after being put in to bat, Peshawar Zalmi could only manage 147/8 in their 20 overs. Captain Babar Azam fought hard with a steady 46 off 41 balls, while Mohammad Haris added a quick 28. However, the middle-order collapse, triggered by Khushdil Shah (3/22) and Abbas Afridi (3/29), hampered Zalmi’s chances of putting up a bigger total.

Aamer Jamal and Mir Hamza also contributed with a wicket each as Karachi’s bowlers maintained control throughout the innings, especially in the death overs.

With this win, the Karachi Kings moved to second place on the PSL 10 points table with 6 points from 5 matches, overtaking Lahore Qalandars. Peshawar Zalmi, with 4 points, currently sit in fourth position.

The next fixture in PSL 10 will see Multan Sultans take on Lahore Qalandars, with both teams looking to gain momentum in the middle phase of the tournament.
