Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Senator Saifullah Niazi and leader Hamid Zaman have been taken into protective custody and if necessary they will be arrested after completing the procedure. Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Friday, the interior minister confirmed that the two PTI leaders were taken into protective custody for failing to appear in the foreign funding case.
Earlier, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had denied the claim of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leaders in which they had said that Senator Saifullah Niazi was detained from Islamabad. When contacted by Urdu News, the officials of the FIA denied it and said that the news about the detention of Senator Saifullah Niazi is being broadcast in the media, but the FIA did not arrest him.
After some time, in the statement of the spokesperson of FIA, it was stated that the news of the arrest of Senator Saifullah Khan Niazi from the premises of the Senate by FIA is baseless. According to the statement, Senator Saifullah Niazi has not been arrested by any wing of the FIA so far.
The FIA strongly denies the news circulating on electronic and social media about the arrest.” On the other hand, FIA confirmed the arrest of PTI founder leader Hamid Zaman from Lahore in the foreign funding case.
Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry has condemned the arrests. He wrote in a tweet that “fascism has never been revealed in the country. Parliament cannot be insulted more than this. The Chairman of the Senate should at least show respect and take notice of this process.”
Earlier PTI leader Iftikhar Durrani had reported through a tweet that Senator Saifullah Niazi has been abducted from the Senate premises, his house was attacked earlier and his personal belongings were taken into custody. was taken.’ Besides, the FIA team was present at the house of PTI Senator Tariq Shafi from the last day to arrest him.
According to FIA, the search operation against Tariq Shafi in the case of the transfer of crores of rupees is going on and his search warrant is also available.
