KARACHI: The industrialists and business community of Karachi held a joint press conference and demanded a Charter of Economy. Addressing the press conference held at the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), President Faraz-ur-Rehman said that a conspiracy to malign Pakistan Army is unacceptable. The Pakistani economy is already facing difficulties due to the global recession. He said that national integrity is the priority, and the business community has always made great sacrifices.
Globally countries are subjugated through Fifth Generation War, and for this, a conspiracy is made to destabilize any country economically. In the same way, in the current situation, the enemy wants to bring Pakistan to the brink of destruction by conspiring against the Pakistan Army. Faraz-ur-Rehman said that the economy cannot afford sit-ins and protests. President KATI demanded that the chartered economy be declared immediately so that the country can get economic stability.
United Business Group (UBG) Sindh Region Chairman Khalid Tawab said that the Saudi Crown Prince is scheduled to visit Pakistan soon, before his visit the political and economic conditions of the country must be settled otherwise Pakistan will be disgraced at the international level. He said that Pakistan Army played an important role in getting out of FATF’s grey list. Khalid Tawab said that the business community is standing United with the Pakistan Army. He said that the Charter of Economy should be made for 10 to 20 years which all political parties should follow. Pakistan Stock Exchange Director Ahmad Chinoy said that Pakistan is paying a huge price for instability.
It is everyone’s right to protest, but protesting at the cost of the economy will put a threat to the integrity of Pakistan. He said that we demand that all political parties and stakeholders should sit together and solve the problems through reconciliation so that the country’s economy is not damaged.
Zubair Chhaya, CEO of KITE Limited, said that the world was already struggling with difficult situations due to the global economic recession. Pakistan was not economically stable enough to withstand this crisis.
This is the reason why the country’s economy is in decline, industries are closing down, there is a shortage of gas in the country and electricity is not available at a reasonable price. Pakistan is a nuclear state and the enemy conspires to destabilize the country, but they are unaware that Pakistan’s nuclear weapons are in safe hands and the country is well protected by the best army in the world. Pakistan Army is the only obstacle to the hostile intentions of the enemy, which knows how to defend Pakistan.
On this occasion, Chaudhry Sohail, the leader of the Federal B Area Association of Trade and Industry (FBATI), Jameel Paracha, Chairman of Sindh Tajir Ittehad, Sharjeel Goplani, Chairman of Karachi Tahjir Ittihad, and other town associations and small traders said that the country’s economy is on the ventilator, difficulties are increasing day by day due to economic crisis.
In such a situation, an economic emergency should be imposed in the country. Pakistan Army is the backbone of the country. Conspiracy against Pakistan Army will not be tolerated. They said that the businessmen will hold a peaceful demonstration to support and show solidarity with the Pakistan Army, in which the business community will express their devotion to the Pakistan Army.
They said that all the stakeholders should sit at one table, show consultation and cooperation, prioritize national integrity, forget all their differences and unite in the interest of the country and implement the charter of the economy while thwarting the enemy’s conspiracy.
A long-term economic policy is indispensable for Pakistan, otherwise, Pakistan will face similar situations to Sri Lanka, Libya, Syria and Iraq. They said that the business community will support Pakistan Army in every way for its integrity and survival.
