The Jammu & Kashmir Overseas Community hosted a grand dinner to honor Shamim Nazir Shal, wife of the late Kashmiri freedom leader Professor Nazir Ahmad Shal. The event drew the presence of Consul General Khalid Majeed, Kashmir community members, officials of the Kashmir Committee Jeddah, and other distinguished guests.
Moderated by Raja Shamroz Ahmad Khan, the gathering began with a Holy Quran recitation by Rehan Ahmad Matyal. Speakers including Engineer Arif Mughal, Sardar Mehtab Sarwar, and Masood Ahmad Puri praised Shamim Nazir Shal for completing Umrah and paid tribute to her husband’s lifelong dedication to Kashmir’s freedom.
Shamim Nazir Shal stressed the importance of a strong Pakistan to support Kashmir’s liberation. She highlighted the Kashmiri people’s resilience against Indian military oppression and urged the United Nations to enforce its resolutions for a peaceful settlement.
Consul General Khalid Majeed congratulated her on her Umrah pilgrimage and reaffirmed Pakistan’s ongoing moral and diplomatic backing for Kashmir.
Notable attendees such as Sardar Abdul Latif Abbasi, Sharif Zaman, and Raja Muhammad Riaz also extended their congratulations and recognized her contributions.
The event concluded with Shamim Nazir Shal presenting her book on the Kashmir freedom movement to Consul General Majeed, followed by a prayer for Kashmir’s freedom and Pakistan’s prosperity.
