Jeddah (Noor-ul-Hassan Gujar) – The Jammu & Kashmir Overseas Community hosted a grand dinner in honor of Shamim Nazir Shal, wife of the great Kashmiri freedom movement leader late Professor Nazir Ahmad Shal. The event was attended by Consul General of Jeddah Khalid Majeed, members of the Kashmir community, officials of the Kashmir Committee Jeddah, and other distinguished guests.
The event was moderated by Raja Shamroz Ahmad Khan, while Rehan Ahmad Matyal had the honor of reciting the Holy Quran. The speakers included Acting Chairman of Jammu & Kashmir Overseas Community Engineer Arif Mughal, Raja Shamroz, Sardar Mehtab Sarwar, Khurshid Ahmad Matyal, Masood Ahmad Puri, Sardar Iqbal, and others. They congratulated Shamim Nazir Shal on performing Umrah and paid rich tributes to Professor Nazir Ahmad Shal for his dedicated services to the Kashmir freedom movement.
In her speech, Shamim Nazir Shal emphasized the importance of a strong and stable Pakistan for the freedom of Kashmir. She stated that the Indian military has failed to break the resolve of the Kashmiri people, who have sacrificed immensely for their right to self-determination. She also urged the United Nations to implement its resolutions for a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue.
Consul General Khalid Majeed, in his address, congratulated Shamim Nazir Shal on the completion of her Umrah and assured that Pakistan will continue its moral and diplomatic support for Kashmir.
Prominent attendees, including Sardar Abdul Latif Abbasi, Sardar Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, Sharif Zaman, Jan Gulzar, Raja Muhammad Riaz, Sardar Bilal Shaheen, Raja Zareen, Shuja Awan, Ikhlaq Baig, and Kamran, also congratulated Shamim Nazir Shal and appreciated her contributions to the Kashmir freedom movement.
At the end of the event, Shamim Nazir Shal presented her book on the Kashmir freedom movement to Consul General Khalid Majeed, and a special prayer was offered for the freedom of Kashmir and the progress of Pakistan.
