Quetta, Pakistan – The Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) National Physical Disability Grade 2 T20 Cricket Championship began with an exciting opening match in Quetta. The Quetta Bolan team made a strong impression, defeating Larkana Physical Disability (PD) by 7 wickets at the IT University Cricket Ground.
Organized in partnership with the Shahid Afridi Foundation and the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA), the tournament aims to promote inclusive cricket and highlight the talents of physically disabled players across Pakistan.
Allauddin and Tanveer Shine for Quetta
Quetta Bolan’s Allauddin delivered a standout all-round performance. He scored 32 not out and took 4 wickets, earning him the Player of the Match award.
Teammate Tanveer Ahmed was equally impressive, claiming 4 wickets for just 15 runs. Their combined efforts helped restrict Larkana PD to 158 runs.
Larkana’s First Appearance in the Championship
This was Larkana PD’s debut in the Grade 2 stage. While they showed flashes of potential, they were unable to build consistent momentum.
Zakir Ali top-scored for Larkana with a rapid 48 off 21 balls, including nine fours. Ahmed Qureshi added 36 runs from 24 balls, hitting five boundaries. However, seven other batters could not reach double figures, which proved costly.
Confident Chase from Quetta
In response, Quetta Bolan reached the target comfortably in 19 overs, scoring 161 for 3.

Amir Habib led the chase with 45 runs off 40 balls, including five fours.

Allauddin remained unbeaten on 32.

Noorullah contributed 30 runs, while Sirajuddin added 24 runs with three fours and a six.
For Larkana, Khan Mohammad, Awad Ahmed, and Ahmed Qureshi picked up one wicket each.

The event was attended by distinguished guests including Haji Abdul Malik Ajkzai, General Secretary of the Regional Cricket Association Quetta, and Muhammad Kakar, a former PCB Management Committee member.
Haji Abdul Malik commended the efforts of the organizers and reaffirmed his support:
“I am very much among you people. I am thankful to the Regional Head PPDCA Aslam Bareach. I have a strong desire to go wherever there is PD cricket across Pakistan. Quetta region is ready to support PPDCA in every way.”
He also expressed pride in Abdullah Khan and Saifullah, two local players representing the national PD cricket team.

The SAF National PD Grade 2 T20 Championship will continue in Sialkot and Faisalabad, promising more thrilling matches and inspiring performances from determined athletes across Pakistan.
