H.E. Mr. Mahamadou Lawaly Dan Dano, Minister of Communication of the Republic of Niger received H.E. Mr. Ahmed Ali Sirohey Ambassador of Pakistan in his office. During the meeting, they discussed various areas of bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
The Ambassador of Pakistan highlighted the ongoing, devastating impact of the floods in Pakistan which resulted in more than one-third of the country being submerged in water. He briefed about the role of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting of Pakistan, Electronics and Print Media, Film & Drama Industry. The Ambassador of Pakistan proposed that Niger TV & Radio may telecast Pakistani products.
Mr. Mahamadou conveyed his condolences and sympathies to the people and the government of Pakistan on the devastation caused by the floods. He appreciated the role of Pakistan’s Embassy and accepted Pakistan’s cooperation & assistance in the entertainment sector. He directed the Secretary General of M/o Communication to produce Niger TV/Radio to coordinate and prepare for cooperation with the brotherly Muslim country Pakistan. He underscored that Niger would prefer Pakistani dubbed programs i.e. Dramas and films. He wishes to sign an MoU at the earliest.
The Ambassador thanked the Minister for his time and solid response to the proposal to air Pakistani drama serials and films in the Republic of Niger. He assured full support in all fields of bilateral cooperation.
