TN Media Karachi Pakistan:
Alarming reports have surfaced from the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Karachi, indicating that officials who raised concerns over alleged corruption and administrative irregularities are now facing retaliatory action.
According to credible sources, Executive Director Dr. Tahir Saghir is allegedly taking steps to remove key staff members who exposed financial misconduct within the institution. These actions are said to be part of a three-phase plan aimed at silencing internal whistleblowers.
In the first phase, Dr. Tariq Sheikh; who had reportedly drawn attention to questionable practices within NICVD has been targeted for termination. The second phase allegedly involves the dismissal of Khurram Hasan, Head of Procurement, who raised objections over irregular payments. The third phase may see the removal of Ghulam Murtaza Khero, who opposed the appointment of a contract employee as Chief Operating Officer, claiming his right to the post.
Sources suggest that instead of addressing the allegations, the leadership is more focused on shielding preferred individuals and suppressing dissent within the institution. These developments raise serious concerns about transparency, accountability, and the safety of those who speak out against corruption.
NICVD has long been held as a flagship healthcare institution by the Sindh government. However, if these claims are not independently and thoroughly investigated, the credibility of the institution and its leadership could face lasting damage.
