Professor at Sindh Madressatul Islam University Accused of Defaulting on Scholarship Agreement

Karachi (TN Media News): A controversy has emerged at Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) as Dr. Muhammad Malook Rind, a professor in the Computer Science Department, has reportedly defaulted on his obligations to Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tando Jam.

According to official correspondence, the registrar of SAU has sent a letter to SMIU highlighting that Dr. Rind failed to fulfill his contractual obligations under a scholarship agreement.

Scholarship Agreement Violation

Dr. Malook Rind completed his PhD in Malaysia with financial support from Sindh Agriculture University. Under the agreement, he was required to serve the university for at least five years after completing his doctorate. If he left the institution before this period, he was obliged to return the full scholarship amount.

However, after completing his PhD, Dr. Rind joined Sindh Madressatul Islam University without repaying the amount or fulfilling the required service period.

University Inquiry and Pending Action

Sources confirm that SAU’s registrar officially notified SMIU of Dr. Rind’s defaulter status. While an inquiry has reportedly been initiated, no significant action has been taken against the professor yet.

Education experts have expressed concern, stating that such violations can harm the credibility of academic institutions. Many have called for a transparent and immediate investigation to uphold university ethics and prevent similar incidents in the future.
