Digital Government Forum Unveils Saudi Arabia’s Transformative Digital Landscape”

The Digital Government Forum in Riyadh shed light on the remarkable digital evolution in Saudi Arabia, with over 36% of medical consultations now conducted digitally, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s commitment to comprehensive digital integration.

Governor of Digital Government Authority, Ahmed Al-Suwaiyan, announced the impressive savings of $6 billion through digital channels, citing the versatile “Absher” platform’s role.

The two-day forum, operating under the theme “Our Future Now,” serves as a dynamic platform for industry players to discuss, exchange experiences, and explore opportunities in the rapidly evolving digital government domain. Various officials shared insights on the progress made in different sectors.

Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Yousef, President of the Court of Grievances of Saudi Arabia, highlighted the use of artificial intelligence in the judicial system, while Abdulhadi bin Ahmed Al-Mansouri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Executive Affairs, emphasized the success of the e-Visa platform.

Other participants included Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Suwailem, CEO of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, discussing the transformation of intellectual property management through digital technology. Hisham bin Saad Al-Jadhaie, CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, spoke about the integration of AI to ensure the safety of drug shipments.

The Assistant Minister of Interior for Technology Affairs, Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Mishari, acknowledged the challenge of integrating fieldwork with AI. Qatar’s perspective on digital transformation was shared by Mashael Al-Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Government Affairs in Qatar’s Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, revealing a $280 million investment during the World Cup.

The forum provides a comprehensive view of Saudi Arabia’s digital landscape, emphasizing ongoing advancements and future opportunities in the digital era.”
