WPCA REPORT OF WEEK 3 PHASE 3 OF JUNE 17, 2022 MORNING SESSION

JEDDAH: In the Morning Session 7 Matches took place in Phase 3 Week 3 hostilities here at WPCA Waziriyah Grounds as Pak Shaheen downed Jeddah Falcons, Sialkot Shaheen prevailed over Nadeem XI, Super CC was too strong for TMCC, Apex Freight successfully chased against Thales Group, Saudi XI ultimately won against Markhour despite a low scoring encounter whereas Bupa CC defeated AEC.

In the Afternoon session, Al Kabbani cricket Group won against Fuchs Al Hamrani, KKR went down to Karachi Warriors, Stallions were too strong for FRC Planet Technology as in the Premier Prime Hyderabad Sharks had the last laugh against Abudawood Trading and Lothers touch the winning line on the 2nd last ball against Al Samer Group to win.

MORNING SESSION:
Match # 15: Landmark Arabia with a newly rejuvenated team won the toss to bat first against Sunbonn Sultans to post 165 for 5 in the allotted 18 overs on ground # 6. Siyam Shaikh hammered 60 in 37 balls with 3 sixes and 6 fours as he added 31 with Urooj Khan (17), then 36 with Afreed Bijli (9) and 40 with Ashish who made 29 in 24 balls with 3 fours. Later skipper Sarfaraz stroked unbeaten 17 and Faizan 14.
Sunbonn Sultans in chase started a bit shakily with the first wkt falling on the 2nd ball but then Adeel in command stabilized with 69 in 41 balls with 7 fours and a six to add 46 for the 2nd wkt with Chiranth (10). Hasnain then hit 34 in 17 balls with 3 sixes and a four and along with Azeem (23) took the tally to 150 for 5 at the end of the 13th over requiring 16 runs in 30 balls with 5 wkts in hand. 10 runs came in the 14th over and 2 wkts were lost in the 15th over but still the equation was like 5 runs in 18 balls with 3 wkts in hand. The 16th over saw 2 wkts and just 5 runs could be made to TIE the match as Sunbonn Sultans had only 10 Players playing for their team. Mujassim took 3 for 33 and Afreed 2.

Match # 16: Pak Shaheen batted after being asked to bat first against Jeddah Falcons on Ground # 8 could make 144 for 6 in the allotted 18 overs. Owais made 25 in 27 balls, Naseer 20 as Rizwan scored with an unbeaten 37 off 17 balls. Abu Saad took 2 scalps.

Jeddah Falcons in reply was stranded at 128 for 9 in stipulated 18 overs to lose the match by 16 runs. Qatadah Kazi hit 18 as Jawwad made 25 in 31 balls and Sher Bahadur 19 and Moiz Mullah 14 as none other could touch the double digits. Hasan claimed 3 for 17 while Naseer and Owaiz had 2 each.

Match # 17: Nadeem XI opted to bat first against Sialkot Shaheen and was bowled out for 133 on ground # 9. Mohammed Urs hit 24 in 23 balls, Nadeem 22 in 11 balls and from the lower middle-order Saddam Husain 18, Altaf 22 in 20 balls and Moosa 16 were the contributors to the score card. Nazim garbbed 3 for 13and Yaseen 2.

Sialkot Shaheen in chase reached the winning target of 134 for 2 in 63 balls to win by 8 wkts with 46 balls to remain. Yasir smashed an unbeaten 54 in 29 balls with 3 sixes and 5 fours as Shafeeq remained unbeaten on 56 off 25 balls studded with 3 sixes and 8 fours whereas the duo added match-winning 103 in 48 balls for the unbroken 3rd wkt. Both the wkt falling went to Nadeem.

Match # 18: Super CC opting to bat first against Transparent Mask on ground # 1 piled up 182 in the allotted 18 overs.  Mohammed Sithik hit 34 in 21 balls as he first added 43 for the first wkt with Bilal Khan 21 and then 45 for the 2nd wkt with Mohammed Yasir who made 46 in 22 balls with 8 fours and a six. Irfan Haider then contributed 30 in 24 balls to get to an impressive 182. Altaf Hussain got 3 for 14 and Hasan Anjum 2.

Transparent Mask in response was restricted to 151 for 7 in stipulated 18 overs to lose by 31 runs. TMCC at one stage chasing big 183 were 4 down for 11 and a half the side was back in the pavilion in the 8th over with the score reading 35 for 5 followed by 6th wkt at 40 in the 9th over. But then Sufyan Ali tried to rectify the damage with 63 in 34 balls studded with 7 fours and 3 sixes and took the score card to some respectability with a partnership of 73 in 40 balls for the 7th wkt with Ali Hasnain who made 15 at the end of 16th over. TMCC then required huge runs 32 in just 12 balls which was although achievable but had no resources to accomplish the task. Two wkts each were taken by Irfan, Ehsan and Bilal Hussain.

Match # 19: Apex Freight chasing 145 to win against Thales Group achieved the target in 92 balls with 6 wkts in hand. Ahmed Mugheri batted well for his unbeaten 67 in 38 balls with 2 sixes and 8 fours as he added a match-winning 102 in 67 balls with Abubaker who remained unbeaten on 35 off 29 balls for the unbroken 5th wkt after a shabby start given by the Apex Top-order with 4 wkts down at 43. Mohammed Suleman made 17. Sunny Shah scalped 3 for 32 and had Apex in trouble.

Match # 20: Markhor XI deciding to bat first against Saudi XI was restricted to 136 in the allotted 18 overs on Ground # 4. Atif hit 45 in 16 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours while Jibran and Mahmoud had 16 each, Farhan 13 and Waseem 12. Kashif Shafeeq claimed 3 for 34, jibran and Mazhar 2 each.

Saudi XI in chase reached the winning target of 139 for 7 in 90 balls to win by 3 wkts with 18 balls to spare. Mazhar in his last innings on Saudi soil blasted a match-winning 72 in 41 balls studded with 3 sixes and 6 fours as none other from the top order could touch the ten-digit mark. Nayyar then made 14 and Jibran unbeaten 10 to win at last. Two scalps each were taken by Mahmoud, Abrar and Farhan.

Match # 21: AEC choosing to use the track first on Ground # 5 against Bupa CC managed 152 for 8 in the allotted 18 overs. AEC lost wkts at regular intervals right from the start of the innings with only Muzammil making 25 in 9 balls with 4 fours and a six, Hassan 24 not out, Waqas 22 not out with 3 fours and Awais 21 in 14 balls. Amanat and Tariq had 15 each. 2 Wkts each were claimed by Shoaib, Shahnawaz Khan and Qasim.

Bupa CC chasing 153 to win achieved the victory target in 93 balls with 5 wkts in hand. Shahnawaz Khan remained unbeaten on 60 off 28 balls with six and 8 fours as he added match-winning 64 in 40 balls for the 5th wkt with Rana Adnan who made 31 in 22 balls with 4 fours after the top order contributed positively with Sheeraz making 36 in 18 balls with 6 hits to the fence and Qasim 17. Skipper Abdul Rehman Patel had 3 for 24.

AFTERNOON SESSION:
Match # 12: Fuchs Al Hamrani using the track first against Al Kabbani Cricket Group was restricted to 117 for 9 in the allotted 18 overs on Ground # 5. Ali Raza stroked 24 in 14 balls with 4 fours, Zeeshan 15, Shahid 16 and  Razaq unbeaten 35 off 39 balls. Luqman Ulfat and Asad had 2 wkts each to their names.

Al Kabbani Cricket Group in chase reached the victory target of 118 for 3 in 73 balls to win by 7 wkts with 35 balls remaining. Imran Qaiser’s opening for his team made 28 in 18 balls with 3 fours and a six as he added 70 runs in 32 balls for the opening stand with Faisal Qayyum who stroked 39 in 21 balls with 6 fours and a six. Saeed Iqbal remained unbeaten on 18 and Mohammed Atif on 16 not out. Khalid Waseem took 2 scalps.

Match # 13: FRC Planet Technology opting to bat first against Stallions on Ground # 4 was restricted to 122 for 9 in the allotted 18 overs. Jaffer top-scored with 45 in 34 balls with 3 sixes and 3 fours and One down Nudhi 23 were the only batters to cross the double-digit from their ranks and obviously, then it is not expected for tall scoring. Aftab Malik grabbed 4 wkts for 23 and Safiuddin 2.

Stallions then reached the victory target of 124 for 2 in 64 balls to win by 8 wkts with 44 balls to remain. Usama scored 44 in 26 balls with 2 sixes and 4 fours as he stitched a match-winning 93 in 44 balls for the 2nd wkt with Hassan Ali who remained unbeaten on 54 off 24 balls with 2 sixes and 5 fours. Akeel made 12 not out.

Match # 14: KKR deciding to bat first against Karachi Warriors reached 188 for 8 in allotted 18 overs on Ground # 7. Jaleel hit 47 in 21 balls studded with 2 sixes and 7 fours as he added 77 runs in 38 balls for the 2nd wkt with one down Yasar who contributed 47 in 24 balls with 3 sixes and 6 fours to get to 86 for 2 in the 7th over after Shaffer (0) returned on the 4th ball of the match. Later Kabeer also hit 47 in 26 balls with 2 sixes and 3 fours as he stitched 77 in 50 balls for the 5th wkt with Mushtaq who stroked 43 in 32 balls with 3 hits to the ropes. Adnan Butt and Adnan Sialkoti had 2 wkts each.

Karachi Warriors chasing 189 for 3 in 104 balls to win by 7 wkts with 4 balls to remain. Adnan Sialkoti played as usual match-winning innings for his unbeaten 87 in 54 balls studded with 4 sixes and 7 fours as he added 41 for the 2nd wkt with Imran Sarwar who made 12 and then match-winning 121 in 68 balls for the 3rd wkt with Waqar who hit 7 fours and a six to compile 65 in 36 balls.

Match # 15: Al Samer Group won the toss against Timex Lothers to bat first to get to 150 for 5 in the allotted 18 overs. Muneeb Anwer top-scored with 44 in 28 balls with 8 hits to the ropes, Siddique 26 in 17 balls with 3 fours while earlier Rayyan made 22 in 17 balls and Abbas 16. Majed Khan remained unbeaten on 10. Ibrar took 2 wkts.

Lothers chased 153 for 8 in 107 balls to win by 2 wkts with one ball to remain. Ibrar ul Haq hit 49 in 21 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours while Waqas Ali made 29 in 20 balls with 4 fours and a six, Saifuddin remained unbeaten on 26 off 16 balls with 2 fours and Khurram Aziz 19. Two scalps each were taken by Majed Khan, Ibrahim Mirza and Osama.

Match # 16: In the last match of the day Hyderabad Sharks batting first against Abudawood Trading racked up 170 for 6 in the allotted 18 overs. Atif Gill hit an unbeaten 48 in 24 balls with 2 sixes and 3 fours, Mohammed Ilyas 38 in 27 balls with 5 fours, Sada Husain Shah 23 and Qaumber Iqbal 31 in 19 balls with 2 sixes and a four. Usman and Adalat had 2 wkts each.

Abu Dawood Trading responded with 163 for 8 in stipulated 18 overs to lose by mere 7 runs. Ali Nawaz faced 45 balls to compile 82 studded with 13 fours and 2 sixes as he first added 61 in 37 balls for the first wkt with Mohsin Shahbaz who made 21. Abu Dawood Trading at one stage quite comfortably placed at 126 for 3 lost wkts in a heap to be reduced to 138 for 5 and then 8 down for 154 and then they were restricted to 163 to lose by 7 runs. Umer Farooq grabbed 3 for 35 and Mohammed Usman 3 for 32.
