United Hurricanes Cruise into Final of AKG Premier League Season 2 with Dominant Victory over Friends United.

Karachi (Sports Reporter): United Hurricanes comfortably defeated Friends United by 9 wickets in the Eliminator 2 match, securing their spot in the final of the ongoing AKG Premier League Season 2. The thrilling match took place at the historic Aga Khan Gymkhana ground (Garden) yesterday.

In the first innings, Friends United posted a total of 150 runs in 20 overs. Kamran Wali top-scored with a brilliant 45 runs off 29 balls, including four fours and a six. Javed Baig contributed 16 runs off 12 balls, hitting two fours. United Hurricanes’ bowlers were in excellent form, with Junaid Khan and Awais Ullah Baig each picking up two wickets. Junaid Khan conceded just 24 runs, while Awais Ullah Baig gave away 48 runs. Parvez Ali and Ameer Qureshi also chipped in with a wicket each.

Chasing a modest target of 151, United Hurricanes made light work of the required runs, finishing with 151/1 in 17.5 overs. Skipper Saud Islam and Ameer Qureshi led the charge with impressive batting performances. Ameer Qureshi remained unbeaten at 65 runs off 42 balls, with three fours and four sixes. Skipper Saud Islam also played a key role, scoring an unbeaten 60 runs off 47 balls, including seven boundaries and a six. Together, they formed an unbroken second-wicket partnership that sealed the win. Parvez Ali was the only batter to be dismissed, scoring 21 runs.

At the end of the match, the chief guest, Anwar Javed, presented the Man of the Match award to Ameer Qureshi for his exceptional performance, scoring an unbeaten 65 runs and taking one wicket.

United Hurricanes will now look forward to their final match in the AKG Premier League Season 2, with both Ameer Qureshi and Saud Islam in exceptional form.
