Riyadh: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq, has called on Pakistani citizens residing in the Kingdom to exercise responsibility in their use of social media in light of the evolving situation in the Middle East.
In a video statement shared on the social media platform X, the ambassador expressed satisfaction with the prevailing conditions across Saudi Arabia, noting that the overall environment remains peaceful, stable, and secure. He reassured citizens that daily life continues uninterrupted, with no immediate cause for concern.
Ambassador Farooq emphasized the importance of adhering to local laws and regulations, urging the Pakistani community to refrain from spreading rumors, speculation, or unverified information. The ambassador also strongly cautioned against capturing or sharing images and videos of sensitive sites, including military installations, government facilities, and diplomatic premises.
In addition, he warned against recording or disseminating footage of any defensive aerial activities, such as the interception of drones or missiles, should such incidents occur.
Reassuring the community, Ambassador Farooq stated that the Kingdom’s airspace remains open and that air travel operations are proceeding as normal.
Concluding his message, he affirmed that the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh continues to closely monitor the situation and stands ready to provide assistance to Pakistani nationals in case of any emergency. He also appealed to the community to remain calm, act responsibly, and uphold public order.
