KARACHI: A Dashing player Ahmed Raza underlined his all-around prowess by inspiring Larosh cc to a clinical 76-run rout of Swingers SAL cc in the 31st Saeed Akhter Cup on Saturday.
Opting to make first use of the Student Ground pitch, Larosh cc compiled 181 in their 20 overs. Opener Adil Saeed Ali set the tone with a rapid-fire 38 from only 21 deliveries while hammering five boundaries and a six. Ali Hassan also made 38 with his run a -ball innings featuring five fours, while Abdur Rafey was also the main scorer with a 21-ball 34, inclusive of four fours and one six, Ahmed Raza was not out on 26 off 17 balls with three fours.
Affan Qureshi (4-31 in four overs) and (-48) shared the bowling honours. Swingers SAL in reply fizzled out without a trace as they subsided inside 18 overs for 105. Khuzama Ahmeds, guesting for the Swingers SALs, made 31 and Owais Kamran 28.
Off-spinner Ahmed Raza returned identical figures of 4-19, while Skipper slow left- armer Hammad Saeed grabbed 2- 19. Ahmed Raza clinches the man-of-the-match award.
