The recent visit (20th-21st Oct 2022) by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan will happen during the most crucial time of regional cooperation. The visit will be important for expanding bilateral relations and signing joint accords vis-à-vis economic/trade cooperation.
One of the most important events will be the opening ceremony of the Tashkent park in Ashgabat and the launch of a joint project to create a border trade zone between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. I believe that this cooperation will be a great success for stimulating joint linkages in the areas of mutual interests.
Moreover, the series of significant visits by President Mirziyoyev to Central Asian Republics clearly depict his vision of reviving greater regional connectivity and good neighbourhood. He has emerged as a strong and dynamic leader to integrate countries and work for a shared future.
Through this visit, both leaders can set a future agenda of joint activities and economic integration, which will be beneficial for enhancing people-to-people contacts and socioeconomic development.
