Finch under pressure after losing 2-1 to Pakistan in the ODIs

Australian caption, Aaron Finch has been under pressure due to lack of form in the last 2 games where he was out for a duck and losing the ODI series 2-1.  Questions around him, if he is to lead the Australian in the T20 World Cup later this year or he is to be replaced?

Andrew McDonald, the interim coach is confident that Finch will get his form back and he is to lead the side by the end of the year as he said “From my end, there’s no conversation around the (possibility) that he won’t be there”. He also confirm that Australian are confident that he is fit to play this level  and the team is build around him.

There is a possibility that he will open the innings with Ben McDermott or Travis Head tomorrow and he would be playing nearly after four years his first T20I.  Finch has shown his desire to lead the T20 World Cup and also the 50-over tournament in India next year and he will have plenty of time to work on this footwork issues after the Pakistan tour.

Finch has also been nominated for the Hundred draft, joining opening partner David Warner and a host of other key Aussie players like Mitch Marsh, Ashton Agar and Adam Zampa in the mix for the competition getting underway in August.

Tomorrow’s game is already a sell-out and the crowd of Lahore who have well supported both teams in the ground, will be loud and electrifying where they are expected the host to play some great cricket as they have shown in the last two ODIs.

Both team were the semi-finalist in the earlier World-Cup in London which Australia came out on top and they will hoping to do the same but Babar Azam who is in outstanding form will be in the way to stop them.  Babar is ranked at number 1 spot with his own partner Mohammed Rizwan at two will be looking to keep the momentum going and Rizwan who didn’t quite did well in the ODIs will be hoping to have his impact in this final game before Australia fly back home.

Pakistan (possible) 1 Mohammad Rizwan (wk), 2 Babar Azam (capt), 3 Fakhar Zaman, 4, Asif Ali, 5 Iftikhar Ahmed, 6 Haider Ali, 7 Khushdil Shah, 8 Shadab Khan, 9 Mohammad Wasim, 10 Shaheen Shah Afridi, 10 Haris Rauf.

Australia (possible) 1 Aaron Finch (capt), 2 Travis Head, 3 Ben McDermott, 4 Josh Inglis/Alex Carey (wk), 5 Marcus Stoinis, 6 Cameron Green, 7 Sean Abbott, 8 Ashton Agar/Mitchell Swepson, 9 Nathan Ellis, 10 Adam Zampa, 11 Jason Behrendorff.

Toss will play the role as overall the ODI series have been high scoring except the last game, so we should expect high scoring T20 with full of entertainment.
