A meeting of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) of the Pakistan Armed Forces was held at JS HQ, Chaklala, today. The meeting of the JCSC discussed the ongoing defence and national security environment of the country.

The JCSC was given a detailed briefing on the security, tactical and operational situation specifically on the western border, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Nadeem Raza and attended by the Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army, General Qamar Javed Bajwa; the Chief of Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar; the Chief of Naval Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi.

The JCSC was joined by the Corps Commander XI (Peshawar) Corps, Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed; the Director General of the Joint Staff, Lieutenant General Muhammad Waseem Ashraf and other relevant officers related to joint military operations in the above-mentioned regions.

The forum also discussed developments related to the Pakistan military’s strategic and conventional policies, the vital importance of law & order in Afghanistan’s border regions with Pakistan in order to achieve sustainable peace and development in the region, as well as the operational preparedness of the Armed Forces to bring about known objectives.

The forum in the end expressed complete satisfaction and full confidence in the readiness of the Pakistan Armed Forces and lauded the sacrifices of Pakistani forces in the fight against terrorism. The participants also reaffirmed the resolve of the Armed Forces to respond to the entire spectrum of threats in a decisive and most befitting manner.
