by: TN Media News Karachi: The Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Karachi, in partnership with the Pakistan Library Club and Koha Community Pakistan, launched the second international conference for library professionals titled “Digital Horizon: Information Society and Future Landscape of Librarianship.”
The two-day event began at the Chinese Teachers Memorial Auditorium with an inaugural ceremony led by Professor Dr. Khalid Iraqi, Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University. Kamran Tessori, Chancellor and Governor of Sindh, attended as the Chief Guest.
The conference aims to address the shifting role of library professionals amid digital transformation and explore the future of librarianship in today’s information-driven society. It features renowned academics, researchers, and librarians from Pakistan and abroad, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Running through August 23, the event highlights the importance of adapting library services to remain key players in the evolving knowledge economy.
